Job Title: Customer Technical Specialist

The Customer Technical Specialist is an Irving, Texas based position. The Customer Technical Specialists primary responsibility is troubleshooting hardware and software problems over the phone for our Olympus AU family of products. The candidate will be an integral part of the Customer Technical Support team, which includes the Call Center Customer Technical Specialists, Field Service Engineers and Field Application Specialists. The Customer Technical Specialist responds to customer calls, assessing a customer's requirements and determining the most cost effective solution(s) to a customer's problems. The incumbent provides general technical consulting to customers and company staff distinguishing among hardware, reagent and/or software issues in order to dispatch the appropriate resource at minimum company expense; collects and analyzes data to enhance customer satisfaction; and classifies customer complaint information according to FDA requirement before forwarding it for resolution.
Essential Behaviors and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Sunday thru Thursday 2nd shift (3:00pm-11:00pm) position. (Shift differential-10% of wage.)
- Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Medical Technology or related field with MT equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years laboratory experience in Chemistry.
- Individual must be customer focused and be able to troubleshoot software, instrumentation and applications relating to Chemistry as well as assist customers with developing their own protocols.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
