Seeking a Research Associate to join a highly interactive immunology team.
 
The preferred candidate will have training in the proper handling and care of mice, general surgical techniques and the collection of blood and tissue samples. Experience in tissue culture (maintenance and transfection of transformed and primary cells), cell-based assyas, ELISA, and flow cytometry are highly desirable. Basic molecular biology experience in cloning is a plus.
 
The candidate will need to be able to work closely with the supervisor and other team members and be able to effectively communicate their results in meetings. Basic computer literacy and experience collecting and analyzing biological data on the computer is a necessity. Candidates will need to be highly organized, flexible and motivated.
 
Animal model work (in vivo/ex vivo assays): 50%
Tissue culture and cell based assays: 30%
Molecular biology (cloning): 20%
 
Requirement:
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Immunology, Biochemistry or Molecular Biology
- 3-5 years experience with mouse disease models
- Animal (mouse) disease model experience and animal handling: general surgical techniques; blood and tissue collection; injections (IV, IP, ID)
- Tissue culture (maintenance and transfection of transformed and primary cells) & aseptic techniques
- ELISA
- FACS
- Cell based assays
- Flow cytometry are highly desirable
- Basic molecular biology experience in cloning is a plus
