We are seeking a motivated Associate Manager or Scientist to join the protein biochemistry group. The candidate will be responsible for coordinating, managing, and performing biochemical characterization of protein reagents that support pre-clinical and clinical programs. The candidate will be responsible for coordinating, reviewing, and preparing documentation to support the characterization of these reagents, and ensure that the stability testing is performed in a timely manner. The individual will also be responsible for coordinating polyclonal antibody projects with an outside collaborator, as well as characterizing the polyclonal antibodies to assess the utility of these reagents to programs. In addition, the individual will be responsible for maintaining qualified and calibrated equipment in the lab, and may provide training on the instruments. The qualified candidate may also further develop research assays, or qualify assays, and write reports.
 
Experience:
Candidates considered for the position must have a strong fundamental understanding of protein biochemistry with a BS in Biochemistry, or related field with 10 years of industrial experience, or a MS in Biochemistry, or related field with a minimum of 5 years of industrial experience, or a PhD in biochemistry, or related field with a minimum of 2 years of industrial experience. The ideal candidate will have some experience working in a GLP or GMP environment. Experience in qualifying biochemical assays is highly desired. Candidates should have a strong fundamental understanding and experience with protein purification, protein modification, and protein characterization techniques including electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE, CE, IEF, 2-D gels, Western blots), analytical chromatography, ELISA, and static light scattering. The individual should also have experience in developing and troubleshooting assays. Preference will be given to candidates who are driven to succeed through hard work, the willingness to learn, and strong written and oral communications skills. MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN:
- Purification of protein reagents.
- Biochemical characterization of protein reagents.
- Review of documentation to support Summary of Analyses of Reagents.
- Write Summary of Analyses and potentially reports.
- Coordinate and manage polyclonal antibody projects that support pre-clinical and clinical programs.
- Coordinate and track reagents status and perform stability testing of reagents. The individual may be responsible for delegating some of the activities to other group members who do not report to candidate.
- Maintain qualified and calibrated instruments. 
- May be involved in further development of research assays or qualification of assays.
