Our pharmaceutical client in Salt Lake City, UT is looking for a junior level SAS programmer to join them on a permanent basis. The candidate should have 2-4 years of experience as a clinical SAS/statistical programmer working in a Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Biopharma or a CRO company.
Description: The Statistical Programmer I applies programming techniques in support of data management activities (e.g., edit checks, patient profiles, data listings) and helps develop, implement, validate, and maintain software for the monitoring, reporting, and analysis of clinical trials. Helps prepare and distribute summarized information to the study team. Provides support for non-SAS programming activities as well. Job Duties: • Provide programming support to other functional areas including Clinical Data Management (e.g., edit checks) and Clinical Operations (e.g., data summaries for monitoring activities). • Develop SAS programs for the analysis and reporting of clinical trials. • Validate SAS programs written by other programmers. • Provides support for non-SAS programming activities. Minimum Requirements: • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Biostatistics, Mathematics, or equivalent. • Minimum of 2 years of SAS programming experience, preferably within the Pharmaceutical or Biotech industry. • Ability to develop SAS programs to support clinical trial reports. • Understanding of the concepts of descriptive statistics for numerical and categorical data and ability to implement SAS to generate basic summary statistics. • Capable of clear and timely written/verbal communication with statisticians. Experience with clinical data management systems or electronic data capture systems. Preferred Skills: • Experience preparing NDAs for regulatory agencies. • Knowledge and experience with CDISC standards. Programming skills in other languages besides SAS. • UNIX programming experience. • Familiarity with MedDRA and LOINC.
